Clinical Educator at HealthEast/Fairview East Region Homecare.  Pat has been an RN for 40 years with experience in a Cardiac Intensive care setting and the past 20+ years in HomeCare...home infusion and education.   Pat has been a member of AHCEM for 7 years, holding positions of Treasurer, President Elect and President.

Programs Chair

Human Relations Representative, Hutchinson Health.  I hold a Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management and Marketing and a Master of Science in Community Health Education. I have worked at Hutchinson Health, which is a licensed 60-bed hospital and four clinics, for 15 years. My job responsibilities include: management of online education system, new employee orientation, coordination and instructor for AHA BLS, and coordinator of the Auxiliary Volunteers. I have been a member of AHCEM for 13 years and am excited to hold the position of Programs Chair. In my spare time, I enjoy camping, gardening, and spending time with my dog Silky and rabbit Stewette.

Hospitality Chair

Education Coordinator, CHI St. Joseph's Health.  CHI St. Joseph's Health in Park Rapids, MN is a critical access hospital located in the heart of lake county. We are accredited by The Joint Commission and offer a full range of services including Emergency Department with Level IV Trauma Center, hospitalist program, lab/imaging testing, surgery, rehabilitation, orthopedic clinic, weight management center, and several outreach service sites.  I have been at St. Joseph's for over 20 years. My background includes Med/Surg and OB nursing as a staff nurse as well as in leadership positions. My career has incorporated education since the beginning, but I've focused on it as an education coordinator for the past 3 years. My current responsibilities include: supporting staff and patient/family education, management of online education system, BLS instructor, NRP instructor, childbirth education instructor, certified lactation counselor, managing student activity at the hospital and CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention instructor.  My husband and I have 2 grown children, so we now dote on our canine fur-babies. We enjoy traveling, fishing, and working around our hobby farm.

Education Coordinator, Douglas County Hospital & Clinics.  Douglas County Hospital & Clinics  is a general medical and surgical hospital in Alexandria, MN. We are accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program and as a Level III Trauma Center. We provide a broad range of services - from our Cancer Center, Orthopedics, Spine Care and many specialties. My background is in leadership and management and my passion is service and life-long learning. As Education Coordinator I serve as the administrator of our on-line learning system, work with Clinical and Quality Managers to develop annual education plans and arrange speakers / programs, facilitate our Orientation programs for new employees, and coordinate certification course opportunities. Married to my husband, Wayne, for 19 years we have 2 children - Callie, 16 and Trista, 14.

Rachel Squibb BSN, RN 

AHCEM Treasurer

Education Coordinator, Glencoe Regional Health Services.  Our facility is a critical access hospital with onsite clinic, surgical services, LTC, Assisted Living, and also 2 satellite clinic locations. My background is in Medical Surgical and OB nursing. Position responsibilities include: management of online education system, coordination of in house learning opportunities for employees (AHA courses, webinars, videoconferences, etc), instructor for AHA BLS, NRP and CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, coordination and oversite of safety drills, Quality Improvement for education as well as employee health. I have been at GRHS 18 years, 10 of which have been in education. My family includes my husband, Jay, and my 2 children, Parker - 15 and Ashley 12.

Mary Leyk MSN, RN-BC

Communications & Outreach Chair

Assistant Professor of Nursing, St. Cloud State University.  My nursing journey started as CNA and LPN in Long Term Care.  When I became an RN in my facility, I worked as the Nursing Educator, and the rest is history!  I love working with new nurses and staff to learn to be the best they can be!  I coordinated an Evidence-based Practice project on new nurse orientation, and have written many education modules.  I am certified in Nursing Professional Development and obtained my Masters Degree in nursing education.  Currently I teach first semester nurses as well as coordinate the RN to Baccalaureate Degree Program.
